SSI Open Water Certification
Did you ever wonder what it would be like to glide through inner space and to venture where many people only dream of going? Scuba would allow you to do that. As a diver you could glide over amazing coral formations, explore sunken shipwrecks or enjoy a local dive. Anyone can learn to scuba dive with the proper training an a complete total diving system. Requirements:What does our program include? Course Description: Open water dives are done in local lakes, off the New England Coast or on vacations. They can be performed in dry suits instead of wetsuits. Ask for more details on this option. All equipment used in classes must have a current hydro, CIP, BCP, and VIP. Proper environmental protection must be worn at all times. During the open water class, scuba equipment is included in the price of the class, but personal fit items are not. It is recommended, especially if further education is in the future, that students acquire their own equipment during the open water class. This allows the student to become more comfortable in the water and allows familiarity with equipment, which promotes safety.
Note: We offer private, semi-private and group classes. The most efficient class is a private class. During the private class the instructor teaches the student at the student's pace and schedule. Classes are generally completed over a shorter period of time because they can meet multiple time during a week. Group lessons do cover the same material but they are done on a set schedule.
The minimum amount of time the student will spend in training with the instructor is approximately forty hours. Outside of the formal class the student will be expected to do some homework. |
