Learn how to properly operate a computer and what added features different computers have.Dry Suit DivingMany people in the Northeast feel that the diving season is July and August. Why not extend the season? The ability to dive in cold water opens up an entirely new spectrum of experiences and challenges for the scuba diver. No matter where you live or dive, this new capability will extend your diving season, as well as open up new bodies of water closer to home.Cold water diving offers a glimpse at a variety of marine animals and bottom growth not found in tropical waters. In the winter months, the colder water will also offer better visibility than the warmer water of the summer months. Different seasons and different temperatures allow us to see many different creatures. Dry suits provide divers with the ability to comfortably explore cold water. A diver can stay warm even in the coldest waters by keeping dry with neck and wrist seals and also by using dry suit underwear for thermal protection. Dry suits also allow people who get cold easily to enjoy diving! Equipment TechniquesEquipment techniques is a class designed to teach divers how to properly care for and maintain their equipment. The primary objective Equipment Techniques is diver safety. Students will learn what repairs and preventative maintenance they can do to maintain their own equipment without voiding the warranty of that equipment. A properly maintained total diving system is natural more reliable. The class's secondary objective is on increased service life and field repairs. The class also focuses on how to troubleshoot equipment problems while at the dive site. It teaches what repairs a diver can do. First Aid and CPRDo you know what to do if you find a person passed out on the ground or come upon a car accident. First Aid and CPR training is designed for the average person to be able to help until trained professionals arrive. This basic class could save lives or help prevent further injury. This class is designed for the diver and non diver.First Aid for DiversMany people are certified in First Aid and CPR, but there are special considerations we need to think about when we spend a lot of time around the aquatic environment. In this class we talk about how we need to handle marine based injuries. We also talk about how to prevent them too.Marine IdentificationHave you ever been diving or snorkeling in the Caribbean and wondered what type of fish or coral you are looking at? Have you ever wanted to share with someone what you saw underwater but just don't know the proper names for the kind of fish you saw? In this class you will learn the proper names of fish, coral and other sea creatures. You will also learn where in the world you can find certain marine life species and interesting information about them. Do you know what marine life is in your area? Come find out. We offer both a tropical and local marine life class.Mastery of Buoyancy ControlOne of the toughest skills to master is buoyancy control. This class will provide you with more information on how to better maintain neutral buoyancy and stay in control of your buoyancy on dives.NitroxNitrox is one of the fastest growing specialties in diving. Different air mixtures can also add additional safety to the sport. By diving Nitrox, divers can be much safer and are at less risk of decompression sickness. Nitrox also helps prevent fatigue associated with diving. The use of Nitrox can also be used to extend bottom times and shorten surface intervals.Physics and PhysiologyThis is an in depth study into the sciences which affect divers from breathing compressed air at depth. These classes give an advanced look at what happens to the diver in the water and why there are so many rules when diving.Stress & RescueDo you know how to prevent an emergency? Learn how to prevent emergency situations and create emergency procedures for the area and the type of diving you do. This course is designed to teach the students how to recognize and prevent panic in other divers as well as in themselves. Learn how to get a disabled diver to shore safely, how to conduct a search and many other important skills for both the experienced and newly certified diverUnderwater Game CollectionIs it legal to lobster in New Hampshire? How do we safely spear fish? When is scallop season in New Hampshire? Many questions such as these will be answered. We will also cover safe collection techniques.Underwater PhotographyAre you interested in getting into underwater photography? Are you already involved in taking pictures, but are not quite happy with your results? Learn how to create and balance a photo, use strobes, and lenses to take your best pictures ever.Underwater VideoHave you ever wanted to share a dive experience with someone who is not yet into diving? One way to do this is to learn how to use an underwater video camera so that you can videotape your dive and share them with friends and family.Advanced and Technical Specialty Courses Advanced NavigationThe Advanced Navigation program picks up where your advanced open water navigation class left off. The diver will increase their safety by being a more competent diver. In this course we will cover swimming rates and kick cycles versus distance. We will also cover different triangulation combination dives, and black out diving, air consumption methods and natural navigation.Advanced NitroxThis class will teach you what you need to know to dive with richer nitrox mixes and how to maintain equipment used with these mixes.Cavern DivingLearn how to dive in an overhead environment. This is the first step towards being cave dive certified.Cave DivingThis class provides the information you need in order to dive caves safely. We teach you what equipment is needed and how to properly plan and execute a cave dive. With this class you can even do your certification dives in caves systems in exotic places like Aukumal, Mexico.Ice DivingWant to dive all year round? Ever wonder what the ice looks like from underneath? This is a great course to learn how to safely conduct an ice dive. Most divers do not have the slightest idea of how to do an adequate search. This class is designed to train divers in how to relocate and recover lost items at various locations and under different circumstances. It also teaches the student search patterns as well as the use of marker buoys and lift bags. It offers the diver a new outlet for adventure, a change from coral reefs and kelp forests. Wrecks also help satisfy the divers natural curiosity by allowing a glimpse at our past.
